Dota Rules for Newbie..

I decided to create this simple guide for those people who can't understand the complete orb effect priority table

You don't need to memorize the table. You just need these simple rules and you'll do just fine.

Rule#1: MELEE/RANGED HEROES SHOULD ONLY HAVE 1 ORB ITEM.

"Why do I see people having a lifesteal + maim combination?"
Maim WILL NOT TRIGGER with any lifesteal orb effect. Try to check maybe the hero have lifesteal skill which is not an orb effect for example: Naix.

Rule#2: RANGED HEROES COULD HAVE THE FOLLOWING COMBINATIONS:

Cold Attack + Maim
Cold Attack + Chain Lightning
Cold Attack + Lifesteal

Other combinations will not work.

Rule#3: HAVING ANY ORB EFFECT ITEM + MANTA WILL WORK.

"Why do i see people who use HoD + Manta?"

They only want the illusion skill of the manta not its feedback. If you want to do these, always place the feedback orb item into the 6th Slot.



Rule#4: TRYING TO HAVE 3 ORB EFFECT ITEM IS STUPID.


Note: This guide is for dummies only. And also, this may or may not be applicable to these Orb Heroes.

* Anti-Mage
* Nerubian Weaver

* Obsidian Destroyer

* Sacred Warrior
* Enchantress

I'll try to create a list of orb items that can work with each of those heroes' orb effect skill.

Dark Seer and GG Push

Ish~kafel - Dark Seer

Range: 125 | Move Speed: 305
Primary: INT
Str: 22 + 2.3 | Agi: 12 + 1.2 | Int: 29 + 3.1
Damage: 60 - 66 | HP: 568 | Mana: 377
HP Regen: | Mana Regen: 
Attack Speed: | Armor: 5

  Vacuum (C)

Creates an abyss upon a chosen parameter, pulling in and damaging foes in the area. 
Level 1 - 60 Damage, 300 AOE
Level 2 - 120 Damage, 400 AOE
Level 3 - 180 Damage, 500 AOE 
Level 4 - 240 Damage, 600 AOE 
Mana Cost: 100/130/160/190
Cooldown: 16 
Comment: Versatile skill. Can be used to save allies, save yourself, synergizes well with many ultimates, and useful for harassing, pushing, and farming. Oh yeah, and you can mow down trees!

  Ion Shell (E)
Surrounds a target with energized spellwork, creating a shield that causes damage per second to enemy units who come in contact with it. Lasts 15 seconds 
Level 1 - 30 damage per second
Level 2 - 45 damage per second
Level 3 - 60 damage per second 
Level 4 - 75 damage per second 
Mana Cost: 60/80/100/120
Cooldown: 15 
Comment: Your signature spell. Very powerful at early game, can 1v1 almost any hero once you max this out, but the window of opportunity on this closes quickly.

  Surge (R)

Floods a target with excess power, removing most negative buffs from it and giving it maximum speed for brief period of time. 
Level 1 - Lasts 3 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 4.5 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 6 seconds. 
Level 4 - Lasts 7.5 seconds. 
Mana Cost: 20/30/40/50
Cooldown: 12/11/10/9 
Comment: Versatile skill. Can be used to save allies, save yourself, and initiate ganks.

 

Wall of Replica (W)

Raises a wall out of pure mana across the landscape. Heroes who attempt to pass through it will have images of themselves emerge from the wall to serve under the Dark Seer until the wall's duration is up. Images take 250% damage and deal 35%. 
Level 1 - Lasts 15 seconds.
Level 2 - Lasts 30 seconds.
Level 3 - Lasts 45 seconds. 
Cast Range: 500/900/1300
Mana Cost: 200/300/400
Cooldown: 100
